Wendy discovered Pilates after sustaining a shoulder dislocation injury during a dance performance in 1998 and found it to be tremendously helpful in rehabilitating her shoulder and back. In 2000, Wendy moved to Los Angeles and was certified in the 5 classic levels of New York style Pilates at A Body Prepared! She then went on to study with master instructors Jillian Hessel and Kathy Corey and now teaches a blend of East and West coast styles of Pilates. In 2009, after sustaining another shoulder injury (as well as knee and ankle) playing roller derby, Wendy again turned to Pilates to rehabilitate the injuries and strengthen the surrounding areas. As a former dancer, retired player of full contact sports, and yoga practitioner Wendy believes strongly in developing the mind/body connection and tailors every session to the individual needs of each client.
